Act 1
Duke Frederick has usurped his brother Duke senior from his place in the kingdom and banished him to the forest of Arden. Duke Senior and all of his followers leave the kingdom and go to the forest. Rosalind his daughter is allowed to stay because of her close relationship with her cousin Celia. Meanwhile the Du Bois family is going through some trouble because the older brother, Oliver, is taking all of the the money that the father is leaving behind and Orlando, the younger brother, is trying to get the money that he deserves and decides to fight Oliver for the money.
Act 2
Duke Frederick is furious that Celia and Rosalind have left the court with Touchstone and suspects a conspiracy and that Orlando is involved. Orlando and Oliver are having some BS in their lives since Orlando beat Oliver in the wrestling match. Oliver warns that Orlando should not come back or he will kill him in his sleep. Rosalind dresses as a man named Ganymede and Celia as a woman named Aliena. They meet Corin a shepard and they ask him to help them Corin be a servant to Aliena. Orlando and his servant Adam are alone and they go look for food. Duke Senior find Touchstone and is surprised that they aren’t fools from the wild.
Act 3
Oliver can not find Orlando and reports this to Duke Frederick who tells him that he has a year to find him or he will lose everything in the kingdom. Orlando is in the forest of Arden and he carves love poems in trees everywhere. Rosalind and Celia see them and Rosalind wants to meet him and find out about him so she drowns Celia with questions. She wants to know how he looks, talks, and everything about him. Touchstone sees one of the poems and makes of it and so does Celia. Rosalind sees Orlando and goes to talk to him as if she were Rosalind(she is dressed as Ganymede a man). She tells him to talk to her as if she were Rosalind and to woo her.
