In chapter 6 Napoleon has pretty much set himself in charge of the farm without taking any ideas from anyone else. He thinks he is much better then everyone but they don’t want to speak up for fear of getting expelled like Snowball. To him even though he knows that Snowball probably didn’t knock down the windmill, once he gets some sort of idea he won’t deny it because he might not want the animals undermining his authority. Also he knows that if the animals find out that he didnt really know that Snowball really knocked over the windmill then they will probably want to run away and also find where Snowball went off to.

Animal Farm Perspective

I chose to do the perspective of Mollie the mare. I think that Mollie is always thinking that she is better then everyone else and that she doesn’t have to do any work around the farm. Also that if she fakes pain or having a rock in her horse shoe. Also when they Battle of Cowshed she ran away when she heard the gunshot and hid in the hay. I think this partly because she was scared and partly she was to good to fight in her own thoughts.

Animal Farm Chapter 3&4

In these 2 chapters the animals harvest the hay and see they did a much better job than Jones and his men. They decide that every Sunday that they have a meeting to review the weeks progress and what they will do for the new week. Snowball starts a class to educate the animals in how to read and write. It is a big success and most of the animals can read and write pretty well but not as much as others. Napoleon takes the new born puppies, nine in total, and makes a school for them in the barn loft. When the animals realize that the milk and apples they gathered is missing they question the pigs authority but Squealer says that they need the milk and apples so that they can be the best leaders possible and run the farm correctly. In chapter 4 half the country has heard of Animal Farm including Jones. He decides that he needs to go back and reclaim his farm. When they arrive at the farm they start to take control but then Boxer, a very strong horse, kicks one of the stable men in the skull and they all think he is dead. Jones kills one of the sheep with his gun and when all of the men retreat they discover Mollie is missing. They also see that the boy Boxer hit, wasn’t dead just stunned.

1. The pigs set them selves up to run the farm by stating that they are the smartest animals on the farm and that they would make the most difference.

2. By the Seventh Commandment the pigs should have to share the apples and milk with everyone else that has put hard work into the project of harvest, milking and everything else on the farm. For their future it shows that it will probably be a monarchy and not a somewhat democracy.

In class we are reading the book Animal Farm by George Orwell. A summary of the first 2 chapters is that Mr. Jones the farm owner goes to sleep and thats when all of them have meeting. Their leader, old Major, tells them what they should do. He tells that that they need to have a rebellion and that they need to kick out all of the humans. Three days later old Major dies and they have the rebellion about a week later. They kick every one out and set up their own rules. They take responsibility’s of the farm and do their own jobs like milking cows. When they come back they notice that the 5 pails of milk are missing.

1. I think a farm is ideal for a utopia because it’s kind of a closed community. This helps because when there is no war that means there can be peace between everyone and there is less possible chance for disagreement since everyone lives the same way.

2. Snowball is a young boar that was being breed for sale. Snowball is a vivacious pig that has very quick speech and is very inventive.

3. The animals are so easily led by the pigs because they all know that the pigs are the smartest animals so they think they would be the best leaders.
